Description
Please note these workshops were formally known as the Supervisory
Management workshops

Pre-requisites: None

Pre-work requirements: Participants will be sent a link to a webpage
where they are required to complete their Belbin self perception
questionnaire prior to attendance on the workshop. Completed Belbin
reports for all participants will be brought to the workshop, by the
tutor, for discussion.

Overall aim of course:
The University’s Vision can only be achieved by people working together
effectively. This workshop will explore the principles of team building
and methods of supporting and developing team members.

Intended outcomes and benefits from attending:
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
Understand what makes effective teamwork
Understand the importance of individual differences to effective
teamwork
Have developed a range of skills to help them build high performing
teams

Indicative content: what the session will cover:
Belbin roles in teams; Building and developing a positive team; Stages
of group formation; Motivation and how this affects team performance;
Action centred leadership (Team, Task and Individual); Giving and
receiving feedback

Learning and teaching methods: An interactive workshop

Tutor: Marcus Hill is a Senior Staff Development Adviser in SDDU. He
has previously held a number of senior training and development roles
within industry. He has also led a team at a College of FE and designing
and delivering organisational development projects as well as personal
and professional development workshops. He has also completed a post
graduate diploma in Training Management and is an authorised facilitator
of the Margerison-McCann Team Management Profile and Quintax Personality
Profile.
