Description
Aim:

This workshop for recently appointed academic teaching staff provides a
brief introduction to the University of Leeds’ Lecture Capture and Media
Management system.

Outcomes:

At the end of this workshop, participants will be better able to:
• Recognise the potential of Lecture Capture to support learning,
teaching and research.
• Distinguish the different facets of Lecture Capture: scheduled, ad-
hoc, personal, mobile.
• Explore the multimedia platform Mediasite for opportunities to edit
and share recordings.
• Upload mobile content to Mediasite.
• Publish content to multimedia channels such as VideoLeeds and the
University of YouTube Channel
• Identity further training needs and online support resources.

Content:

There will be opportunities to make a short recording on a mobile device
and upload this to Mediasite. SDDU laptops and ipads will be available
but participants may bring their own mobile device, tablet or ipad.
Participants are encouraged to ask questions about the technicalities of
Lecture Capture and identify further training needs.


Tutor: Beth Snowden

Beth is an Academic Staff Development Officer (Technology). Her
responsibilities within OD&PL are to motivate, train and support
colleagues with technology enhanced learning in alignment with the
University of Leeds’ Digital Strategy for Taught Student Education 2013.
She is presently responsible for delivering training and support on the
use of Lecture Capture and Media Management.
