Description
We are pleased to announce that the Annual Research and Innovation
Support Conference will take place on Tuesday 2 December 2014 at
Weetwood Hall Hotel and Conference Centre. This is the eighth conference
and builds on successful events in previous years, each attended by in
excess of 100 delegates.

The 2014 conference theme, Increasing Knowledge and Opportunity, will
provide an important opportunity for research and innovation
professionals to engage with the new University Strategic Plan. The
conference plenary will consider the opportunities provided through
academic collaboration with key industry partners, outlining the
strategic role and benefits which accrue from these relationships and
how cultural and organisational differences can be overcome to deliver
maximum benefit to both parties.

We are delighted to announce that Professor David Hogg, PVC Research and
Innovation will open this year’s conference, and our keynote speakers
are Dr Malcolm Skingle, Director, Academic Liaison, GlaxoSmithKline and
Professor Paul Stewart, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine & Health. We
also are pleased to welcome to this year’s conference Colin Cooper,
Research Facilitator, Liverpool Hope University and Tatiana Schofield,
Managing Director, Synergy lab, who will be leading two of our parallel
