Description
This course aims to o consider the ethical considerations around payment
for research participation, and offer available sources of guidance and
support.

This session will consider the question of payment for participation in
research. Is there a distinction between inducements and compensation?
Does payment for participation affect the ability of individuals to give
valid consent? Can we allow people to treat their bodies as a commodity?
Is this a question for Research Ethics Committees to decide? The
workshop will be a mixture of interactive lecture and group work.

Participants will have a better understanding of how the issues can be
addressed, and identify sources of support and guidance.

Feedback from previous participants:
“Comprehensive information.”
