Description
This 1-hour session offers a practical space for coaches and mentors who
are supporting others through organisational change while experiencing
it themselves. We’ll explore how to stay resourced, keep boundaries
intact, and avoid projecting your own experience into mentoring
conversations. You’ll also learn quick Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
(ACT) informed micro‑tools you can use in the moment — and we’ll talk
openly about what to do when you’re not in a place to mentor or coach
safely.

You’ll leave with:

- A simple pre‑session self‑check
- Helpful scripts for redirecting or rescheduling
- ACT micro‑techniques for managing in‑the‑moment reactions
- Clear routes for supervision and support at Leeds

A short, practical session to help you show up thoughtfully and safely
for yourself and for others.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a practical, evidence‑based
approach that helps people handle difficult thoughts and feelings
without getting stuck in them. Instead of trying to "fix" or suppress
reactions, ACT focuses on simple grounding techniques, noticing what’s
happening in the moment, and reconnecting with your values so you can
choose steady, purposeful action. In this workshop, ACT is used in a
very accessible way — quick micro‑tools you can use in under a minute to
stay present, manage reactions, and keep mentoring conversations safe
and boundaried.

This session will be delivered by Freyja Douglas-McTurk (she/her)
Workplace Counsellor and Trainer in the Staff Counselling Service.
