Description
This course will take place on campus.
Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) encourages researchers to
consider the wider implications of their work and how their research can
create value for society in an ethical and responsible way. With RRI
increasingly recognised by funders such as UKRI, it is becoming an
important part of the research landscape, from shaping research
questions and engaging stakeholders to considering ethical, social and
policy implications.
This interactive workshop will introduce the principles of RRI and
explore practical tools for embedding responsible research practices
within your own work. Through discussion and activities, you will apply
RRI concepts to your own research and gain practical approaches to
support your research.
As a result of attending, you will be able to:
• Explain the importance of Responsible Research and Innovation and its
relevance in today’s research environment.
• Apply the UKRI AREA framework to discuss research and consider broader
societal impacts.
• Develop a stakeholder map for your own research area.
• Identify actions you can take to improve RRI within your research
endeavours.
