Description

This course will take place online.

The journey from school to university can be challenging for all
students but there are additional barriers for disabled students which
create further demands on their time compared to non-disabled students.
This session will explain some of the key differences for students
between school and university disability support and the additional
steps disabled students need to take in order to ensure support is in
place for them to increase your understanding of their experiences.

There may be delays with disability support being set up so this session
will also provide you with practical guidance of steps to take and how
you can support a student who discloses disability but has not yet
registered with Disability Services or does not yet have a support plan
in place. It will also share practical guidance on how to manage
conversations around referring students to Disability Services and other
services that might be able to provide useful support e.g
Skills@Library.
