Description
Description:
This session will be delivered face to face on campus
Whatever your role at the University, you may need to use
facilitation skills in a variety of contexts. For example:
• facilitating discussion between colleagues or on specific
topics in team meetings, project meetings or other formal/informal
meetings;
• facilitating discussion with others on specific
developments or change activities, helping to create psychological
safety within a group;
• facilitating team development events, both online and face-to-
face, which may include discussion of a variety of topics such as
strategy, ways of working, planning, skills development, communication
or team culture.
How we facilitate discussion in these contexts is key, supporting people
to work together effectively. Effective facilitation can unleash group
wisdom, ensure meetings and discussions are effective, help colleagues
to collaborate successfully and ensure everyone feels involved in the
decision making process.
This session is highly practical. We’ll discuss the role of the
facilitator, modes of facilitation, good practice and overcoming
challenges, then provide a safe space for you to practice your
facilitations skills in small groups and receive constructive feedback
from participants.
