Description
This session is part of the psychosocial resources for personal
wellbeing and professional competence series and looks at how change is
inevitable—but how we meet it can shape our wellbeing, confidence, and
sense of agency.
This training offers a practical, psychologically informed space to
explore how we respond to uncertainty, and how we can build resilience
in the face of shifting roles, systems and expectations.
Designed for staff navigating organisational change, transitions, or
personal upheaval, the session blends therapeutic insight with workplace
relevance. Drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),
participants will explore tools for grounding, values-led
decision-making, and emotional regulation.

Intended outcomes and benefits of attending
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of
psychotherapy that helps people:
• Accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them
• Commit to actions that align with their personal values
• Build psychological flexibility, meaning the ability to stay
present and act meaningfully even when life gets tough
• It uses tools like mindfulness, cognitive defusion (stepping back
from thoughts), and values-based decision-making to help people live
fuller, more meaningful lives—even with emotional pain.

This session will be held online via Teams.
