Description
This practical session offers the opportunity to practice your mentoring
skills and receive feedback in a supportive environment working with
other mentors. The session will introduce using the GROW model in a
mentoring context and instructions for providing strengths-based
feedback. You will then work in triads to practice your active listening
and questioning skills and offer and receive feedback.
Pre-work: please bring a challenge to the session that you would be
happy to talk about as part of the mentoring practice.
A good challenge to bring is one that is live and current for you and
that you are happy to share in a workshop setting. You could also use it
to bring something related to your mentoring practice, such as an area
for development, a conflict of interest, or anything you would like
advice on from other mentors.
