Description

This course will take place on campus.

This interactive ethics workshop provides a practical, discussion-based
introduction to the core principles of research ethics. Participants
will engage with real-world case studies and group discussions to
explore how ethical frameworks, governance processes, and research
integrity guide good research practice.

The session is designed to reframe the ethics review process—not as a
hurdle, but as a supportive step in conducting high-quality research. A
live demonstration of the Phoenix online ethics application system,
along with an optional extended Q&A, offers hands-on guidance to help
researchers confidently navigate ethical challenges in their work.

As a result of attending, you will be able to:

Identify common ethical issues, concerns, and governance
requirements in research.

Evaluate the role of research ethics, integrity, and governance
in supporting high-quality, trustworthy research.

Apply ethical reasoning to real-world case studies.

Navigate the ethical approval process, including using the
Phoenix online ethics application system, and locate appropriate
guidance and resources.
