Description
This course will take place on campus.
Research culture is the environment in which your research takes place.
It includes the ways we collaborate and communicate, as well as the
behaviours, values, and expectations that shape the research process. It
also covers how your work is recognised and rewarded. This session will
help you explore the impact of research culture, reflect on your own
values and how they shape your research environment, and consider how
you can positively influence the culture around you.
Objectives
By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
• Identify your values
• Compare how they align with the University values and how they
altogether shape the culture in which you work
• Describe the key aspects of positive research culture and its
importance within the research environment
• Evaluate the culture within your own research environment and identify
actions you can take to improve research culture
Benefits of attending:
• Increase your understanding of value-driven personal power to
influence on your working environment
• Develop actions for you to improve the research culture in your own
research environment
• Meet like-minded researchers from across the university and share
ideas around research culture
