Description
This course will take place on campus.
Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) is an approach that seeks to
align research with societal values, needs, and expectations,
fostering ethical,sustainable, and impactful outcomes.
RRI involves engaging diverse stakeholders, anticipating potential
impacts, and promoting transparency throughout the research lifecycle.
As consideration of RRI becomes increasingly important for funding
bodies, this workshop will guide you in understanding and applying these
principles to your research projects.
As a result of attending, you will be able to:
• Explain the importance of RRI and why it is a focus in today’s
research environment.
• Apply the UKRI AREA framework to discuss research and consider
broader societal impacts.
• Examine how your research fits into the global context and policy
landscape.
• Develop a stakeholder map for your own research area.
• Identify actions you can take to improve RRI within your own
projects and future research endeavours.
