Description
COURSE FORMAT:

This 3 hr (2 x 1.5hr) online course builds upon the material covered in
SPSS Beginners (IBM Statistics) and provides greater detail of aspects
of data handling in SPSS.

PREREQUISITES:

The ‘SPSS’ courses are designed to be undertaken in order. Participants
MUST have attended the SPSS Beginners (IBM Statistics) course prior to
applying for the SPSS Intermediate course.

SPSS for Windows: The training covers SPSS for Windows only and does
not cover SPSS for Mac. Mac users are welcome to take part in the
course but the steps and commands may be slightly different. There will
not be enough time in the session for the tutor to cover both versions.
Please visit the SPSS (IBM Statistics) website for more specific advice
on the MacOS version.

CONTENT:

• Transform Variables using the Recode procedure
• Transform Variables using the Compute Variables procedure
• Use Select Cases and Split File commands
• Use the Weight Cases procedure
• Use the Explore procedure to assess normality of data
• Transform variables to achieve normality
• Handle multiple response data
