previous experience of Linux or command line is required.

In this course, we cover:

- Filesystem structure on Linux systems
- Basic useful commands for navigating filesystems and managing and
modifying folders and files
- How to run scripts from the command line

This course includes practical exercises and hands-on coding that you
will be guided through. Note that this course does not include guidance
on submitting jobs to HPC systems, please see HPC1: Introduction to High
Performance Computing for information on this topic.

PREREQUISITES: None. This course uses a virtual Linux machine in the
cloud, so no specialised software is required to be
installed/downloaded.
