started-in-se/

Aims:

This is an interactive session designed for you to share any concerns
you might have or support you might need to help with assessment and
marking. You will have the opportunity to assess and mark an example
assessment against a marking rubric with peers and reflect on the
experience. This workshop will give you the space to share best
practices in assessment and marking and explore what could work for you.

Outcomes:

1. Identify the principles and purpose of assessment and marking.
2. Identify actions you could take and improvements you could make with
future assessment and marking.

Content and format:

This synchronous session will build on the asynchronous Foundations in
Teaching content on the principles and purpose of assessment and
marking. This is an online session, held via MS Teams. You will work in
breakout rooms to discuss experiences, challenges, and concerns around
assessment and marking by working through an example assessment and
applying a marking rubric to it. These discussions will allow you to
share best practice and identify actions you can take with your own
future practice.

Learning and Teaching Methods:

Participants will be guided on how to share their reflections in
facilitated breakout activities, and how to use those discussions to
develop actions.
