Description
In this session Alan Copland, Business Improvement Officer, will share
his story of developing his own philosophy of coaching and mentoring,
drawing on his experience as a sports coach, mentor and internal coach.
He will explore his values and experiences supporting colleagues in
different contexts and drawing on different approaches, and invite you
to consider how your experiences have informed your philosophy of
mentoring and coaching:
• Explore different approaches to supporting development in mentoring,
coaching and sport coaching.
• Explore the boundary between coaching and mentoring, and when you
might adopt different approaches.
• Think about how your experiences have informed your approach to
mentoring/coaching – what did you take away from those experiences? How
has that impacted the way you approach working with your
mentees/coachees?
• Reflect on your philosophy of mentoring/coaching.
