Description
In our everyday lives, we often personalise our activities and products
to suit our preferences and needs. Yet when it comes to our professional
lives, we often don’t receive encouragement to personalise our jobs. Job
crafting offers a revolutionary approach to changing this by empowering
individuals to reshape how they think about and go about their work, to
better align with their strengths, interests, and values.
In this session, we will delve into the latest science and research on
job crafting and explore practical ways in which mentors can utilise
this concept to better support their mentees’ professional and career
development.
This session will be interactive and participative, and there will be
space for discussion and group activity, enabling you to learn from each
other.
The workshop will cover:
• Introduction to Job Crafting: The science and application of job
crafting, an evidence-based approach to enabling people to bring their
best selves to work, and a different way of looking at career
development.
• Bringing Job Crafting to Life with Others: Explore how to actively
engage colleagues, team members and mentees in the job crafting process,
fostering a collaborative environment.
• Holding Job Crafting Mentoring Conversations: Learn and experiment
with practical techniques and strategies for guiding mentees through
meaningful discussions on job crafting.
• Practical Application: Interactive exercises and tools that mentors
can use to help mentees identify opportunities for job crafting within
their roles.
By the end of this workshop, mentors will have built confidence in
bringing job crafting to life, to help their mentees proactively shape
their work experiences, leading to enhanced career development and
personal growth. Mentors will have access to supporting materials that
they can add to their toolkit.
