Description
Podcasting is a form of knowledge production that has great potential
for authentic student assessment in a wide range of disciplines.
Podcasts can also be a catalyst for active learning, undergraduate open
research, open educational practice, and democratization of knowledge
production.

In this workshop, the ethical, educational, and social affordances of
student podcasting will be critically explored. Crucially, participants
will learn how to design assessed podcasting tasks for a variety of
undergraduate modules, how to support their students in the research and
scripting of their podcast, and how to help students make the most of
the technical support and guidance offered to them within the
University. Examples of assessment criteria and rubrics will also be
provided.
