Description Aims: The August Minerva upgrade will introduce a new Turnitin integration method which will be used for the 21/22 academic year and beyond: Turnitin LTI. This session will introduce participants to changes in the administration of assignment areas and highlight changes to the student submission experience. The session leader will demonstrate the Turnitin LTI integration. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions. Further guidance will be signposted for reference purposes after the session. Staff are encouraged to also attend the session: What’s changing in Minerva? Pre-work A summary of key changes will be supplied to attendees before the session. A basic knowledge of Turnitin is assumed. Outcome Understand the key differences between the existing and new Turnitin LTI assignment tool. Staff will: - Gain knowledge on how to create and edit Turnitin LTI assignments - Know how to send a reminder to students who have not submitted - Understand how to ‘hide’ columns in the Grade Centre to ensure marks are released to students at the appropriate time - Preview the student submission experience Content The session will focus on the key differences between the existing and new Turnitin LTI integration being introduced this Summer. Staff will watch a demonstration on how to create and edit Turnitin LTI assignments. Key differences will be highlighted and the connection between Turnitin and the Grade Centre explained. Staff will also see a demonstration of the student submission experience. Learning and teaching methods: The session leader will demonstrate the Turnitin LTI integration.
