Description
In this workshop, participants will learn to incorporate podcasting into
their teaching and research practice.

Podcasts are a fantastic tool for community engagement activities and
knowledge transfer. Here at Leeds and elsewhere, colleagues have been
using podcasting tools for student projects, authentic assessment, to
boost engagement in research and to create impact.

There will be ample opportunity in the workshop to reflect on the social
and communicative affordances of podcasting in a context of rapid change
in the way that academic knowledge and digital education are produced
and accessed.

Throughout the workshop, we will work with practical examples of
academic podcasts, learning tasks, assessment criteria and tools. The
session will be interactive and include breakout activities. There will
be a 15-minute break in the middle and time for questions and support at
the end.

Facilitated by:

Antonio Martínez-Arboleda, Principal Teaching Fellow and Co-Director of
the Centre for Research in Digital Education

Dr Aline Gaus, Academic Development Consultant, ODPL

Beth Snowden, Digital Academic Practice Advisor, ODPL
