Description
The impact of high levels of mutual respect and inclusivity in the
workplace is hugely important. Research demonstrates that these high
levels of interpersonal qualities can boost wellbeing, engagement, and
commitment to common objectives. On the other hand, a lack of respect
and inclusion can damage health, motivation, and performance. Based on
the latest behavioural science, these workshops follow a journey focused
on the individual, walking through what inclusion, civility and respect
means personally and in the context of others. It provides practical
strategies and tactics to help colleagues enhance their places of work.

There are three modules (1 hour, 1.5 hours and 2 hours) for this
programme and you will be required to attend all three.

Module 1: Refresher on key themes within equality and diversity - 21st
May 10-11am

This highly focussed and comprehensive workshop will provide a refresher
on previous training. It will utilise interactive polls to establish
levels of awareness and understanding within the group. The session will
provide an open and supportive forum within which delegates can
honestly share their understanding, experiences and any misconceptions
on this critical theme. The expert facilitator will gently realign
understanding and knowledge to ensure that all delegates are acting from
the same information and consistent message across the University is
being delivered and understood.

Module 2: Legal aspects and practical application - 10th June 2-3:30pm

Workshop two will explore the topic of civility and inclusion at a
deeper level. The focus will be on exploring the legal aspects of
equality and diversity and how to successfully apply them. The robust
workshop will explore the ‘what’ and offer pragmatic and realistic ideas
on the ‘how’ to implement them to achieve a sustainable and respectful
workplace that benefits all within it.

Module 3: Exploring and applying the theory - an open forum - 29th June
10-12

The third and most comprehensive of the workshops will explore the
sociological thinking that can be applied to the concept of civility and
inclusion. The theories are incredibly relatable and really provide the
opportunity for delegates to reflect upon their own experiences and
actions. The facilitator will provide a safe and supportive environment
for delegates to share their honest stories, to be open to
self-reflection and discuss ways that the theories can impact future
interactions. Even through the use of online technology, our workshops
retain the human element and these workshops are incredibly powerful.
