Suitability
This workshop is primarily designed to support
international PGRs in the early stages of their PhD who would benefit
from undertaking a review of basic English grammar.

Pre-requisites: Early-stage PGRs who would benefit from undertaking a
review of basic English grammar.

You must complete this workshop (and the Grammar A workshop) in order to
enrol on the Core Language Skills 1: Academic Writing Skills course.

(NB Grammar B is also offered as an integral part of the intensive Core
Language Skills 1: Academic Writing Skills Course)

Description
In this workshop you will review how to combine ideas within/across
sentences and over longer pieces of text in order to improve the
accuracy and coherence of your doctoral writing. You will practise
strategies for redrafting your writing to ensure effective communication
with your readers; and consider the effort and time required by the
writer to produce coherent text.
