Description
Negative experiences with maths can lead to fear and avoidance of maths
learning, leading to poor preparation and performance in the exams, and
thus forming a cycle. This workshop will consider the strategies for
breaking the cycle and learning maths more efficiently. It will NOT
contain any mathematical problems and is suitable for any student who
encounters problems involving maths or calculations in of their courses.

In this workshop we will:
• discuss what maths anxiety is;
• consider the effects of maths anxiety on learning; and
• identify strategies, ideas and solutions for overcoming maths
  anxiety.
