NVIVO PART 1

COURSE FORMAT:
This 3 hr online course (2 x 1.5hr sessions) is tutor led and provides
the opportunity to practice techniques by completing tasks and exercises
supplied by the course tutor.
PREREQUISITES:
Participants are not expected to have any previous knowledge of this
software and is suitable for beginners.
NVivo for Windows and NVivo for Mac:
The training covers NVivo 12 for Windows version only. It does not cover NVivo
You are welcome to take part in the course whilst using a Mac but the steps and
commands may be slightly different.
There will not be enough time in the session for the tutor to cover both versio

CONTENT:
• Create a new project and folder structure to import your project data
into.
• Import your research materials into the project & learn how to save
and backup the data.
• Create thematic Node structure & learn how to code your sources to the
thematic nodes using various coding techniques.
• Create Case Nodes and classify them by their demographic attributes.
• Organise Externals.
