Description
Sometimes it’s difficult to see the wood from the trees (or rather when
doing a PhD the salient facts from the useless information in the pile
of papers you need to read). This short workshop is a mixture of
discussion and practical exercises and is designed to help you pick out
the important points in a research paper and come to a conclusion about
their significance.
The course covers
- a review of common paper structure
- key features to look for in papers
- how to summarise papers
- how to critique papers
