Overall Aim of the course:
This is an opportunity for you to experience being asked questions in a
research degree Viva style format*. We will support both those at the
transfer Viva stage and the final Doctoral Viva.

Outcomes and benefits:
Participants will have opportunity to:
1. Practice their response to a set of common questioning approaches
in Vivas
2. Receive feedback on their responses
3. Reflect upon their answers and any changes they might make for the
actual Viva
4. Experience the role of examiner

*In addition there are new online courses available in the Leeds
Doctoral College Minerva organisation providing further information on
the format and rules and regulations of Vivas at Leeds. The courses also
provide supervisor and postgraduate research perspectives. You should
view the online courses before attending this session.
