Suitable for all staff working on research projects from all faculties,
except those in Medicine & Health who are encouraged to attend the
session specifically for this faculty. Others who need to search any
Ovid databases (eg. Medline), or search using medical subject headings,
are also encouraged to attend the session for the Faculty of Medicine
and Health.

Description
This Library workshop gives an introduction to literature searching for
University of Leeds staff working on research projects. We offer
literature searching guidance and support throughout the session,
including the opportunity to practice your own literature searching
skills at the end the session (optional).
By the end of the session you will:
• Understand the importance of planning your literature search
• Know what literature search tools are available
• Understand and be able to apply advanced searching techniques
• Be familiar with some of the techniques you can use to improve
your search results
• Understand how to record your searches and keep up to date with
new research
