Overall aim of the course:
To share good practice and develop the skills required to deliver an
exceptional service on the front desk.

Intended outcomes:
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• Understand the importance of first impressions
• Identify student expectations
• Share good practice and ideas
• Understand how to be effective and professional
• Identify the skills you have and how to use them
• How to deal with difficult situations on the front desk

• The importance of first impressions
• Challenges you may face in a front desk role
• Moments of truth

Learning and teaching methods:
An interactive course based around small and large group discussions.

Tutor:
Jenni Whitfield is the Front Desk Network Coordinator and has worked at
the University for over 5 years. She has extensive experience working in
various front desk roles.
