Description
Context
Collaborate Ultra is an online, interactive webinar tool. It includes
audio, video, text chat, an interactive whiteboard, PowerPoint display,
application share, breakout rooms, polling and recording functionality.
It is used within Higher Education for a variety of purposes: blended
delivery, distance learning programmes, placement support, curriculum
enhancement, tutorial support, and professional development.

Aim
The aim of this event is to inform colleagues about the potential uses
of Collaborate Ultra within Higher Education and to inspire colleagues
to explore this technology as a complementary tool to support student
education.

Preparatory work

Blackboard: Gillian Fielding, UK Customer Success Advocate for
Blackboard

Gillian Fielding is a Customer Success Advocate for Blackboard and
supports FEI and HEIs to incorporate Blackboard products to support
student education. Gillian will be hosting the event to provide
information on how other universities in the UK and overseas are making
the best use of Collaborate.

Gillian has worked in education for 30 years lecturing in both HE, FE
and special needs. In her previous role Gillian was the Digital Skills
Manager at the University of Salford and was responsible for the
digital/learning technology skills of all staff. She was alsos the
module leader on the Flexible, Distance and Online Delivery (FDOL)
module of the Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP).
