OVERALL AIM
To inform staff about the processes relating to leavers and extensions
to study (for taught students) and provide the opportunity for
participants to discuss case studies and ask questions.

INTENDED OUTCOMES AND BENEFITS
On completion of the course, participants should have a working
knowledge of the leavers and extensions processes along with an
understanding of the importance of data quality and an overview of the
operational timeline for student administration.


CONTENT:
• Extensions – the process for taught postgraduate students we also
cover UG students as well
• Leavers –processing leavers and returners, instigating the presumed
withdrawn process and referring special cases
• Operational Timeline –processes throughout the year including
deadlines
• Data Quality – the importance of getting it right


LEARNING AND TEACHING METHODS
A short online tutorial (pre-requisite) followed by a 1.5 hour workshop

TUTORS
This workshop is delivered jointly by staff experienced in the processes
both at a central and school level. The tutors are Neil Cockshaw and
Lesley Dils.


Neil Cockshaw and Lesley Dils are based within the Programmes and
Assessment Operations Team, which is responsible for the student record
and includes the key processes of registration and module enrolment.
