Description
Overall aim of course:
To develop the skills in staff to effectively support committees and
groups and the actions arising.

Intended outcomes:
At the end of the course, participants will:
• understand the revised deliberative structure and remit of the
new faculty committees;
• understand what constitutes high quality support for committees
and chairs;
• develop the necessary understanding and skills needed for the
role and to support the follow-through of actions.

Content:
• The new committee structure/new faculty committees
• The role of SES staff in supporting the work of a committee

Learning and Teaching Methods:
The course is a mix of presentation and group activities/discussion

Tutor:
Jenny Lyon is the Head of the University’s Quality Assurance Team and
has worked at the University for 19 years. She has extensive experience
in supporting committees at Faculty and University level.
