Overall aim of the course
The aim of this session is to support researchers in preparing for their
assessment for transfer from provisional doctoral status to PhD (or
other doctoral programme).

Outcomes and benefits
The transfer process is a compulsory part of the PhD and other doctoral
programmes at the University of Leeds and is a key assessment stage in
the development of the research and researcher. This workshop provides a
guide to the process and expectations.

The session will cover
•What are the transfer requirements of the University, your Faculty and
your School?
•What are the guidelines for the written component of the transfer
process?
•What do examiners look for?
•What types of questions do you get asked in the viva?

Format of the session
This is a half-day participative group workshop. There will be a mix of
tutor input, group tasks and participant discussion. You will generate a
personal plan of action to prepare for your transfer process
