Overall aim of course: This course will help managers to
understand how to manage staff performance effectively.

Intended outcomes + benefits from attending:
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
• Understand their role in managing performance and the approaches they
can take
• Know what processes and procedures are in place to assist in the
management of performance
• Know where to go for information and support

Indicative content:
This session focuses on the full range of performance. It highlights
the importance of setting and agreeing clear objectives and expectations
for your staff as well as on-going monitoring and the use of
constructive feedback to support the achievement of these objectives. It
will provide an overview of how activities such as recruitment and
induction can support performance and the policies and procedures to
help you effectively manage performance and to recognise your staff.
Effective management of probation as a first stage to the on-going
management of performance will be included.
