Description
Description
There are a multitude of images, sounds and materials available, which
we all use in aspects of our work or study at the University to make
our work more visually interesting or informed. Are we able to use this
material in our teaching (e.g. lecture material, handouts, VLE areas,
video and audio recordings, website pages) without breaching copyright?

Who is this session aimed at?
Anyone who prepares content for use to support student education
activities at the University.

Why attend the session?
Outcomes; At the end of the session, you will be better able to:
(1 ) identify whether material is freely available or licensed for
use;
(2) know what ‘fair dealing’ means and when it applies, and
(3) obtain permissions for use or find licensed material available
online.

Content
This session will include a presentation on
copyright and activities to support colleagues to use materials and
publish content without breaching copyright.

Tutor
Beccy Shipman is the University Digital Content and Copyright
Coordinator based in the University Library.
Beccy provides advice to staff at the University on use of online
teaching materials and compliance with licences for use.
