Description
Context:
The University of Leeds’ Lecture Capture and Media Management System
provides new opportunities for the creation and sharing of digital
content to support learning, teaching and research. The launch of
VideoLeeds will allow staff and students to publish lecture
capture recordings and other media to this new publicly available
channel. Students will be able to publish to VideoLeeds from September
2015.

Sharing options from the Media Management system will eventually include
publication to iTunesU and the University of Leeds YouTube Channel.
VideoLeeds will replace LUTube which will be phased out between
September 2015 and March 2016.

Aim of the Session:
The session is a 30 minute session providing an opportunity for
colleagues to explore VideoLeeds and ask questions.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the session, it is expected that participants will be
aware of:
• the opportunities for publishing offered by VideoLeeds;
• the benefits of publishing to VideoLeeds and;
• further information and support available for publication online.

Preparation:
Participants are invited to visit the Changing Landscape website and
read about the opportunities afforded by creating and publishing digital
content at http://www.sdduonline.leeds.ac.uk/changinglandscape.

Content:
There will be a short demonstration of VideoLeeds and participants are
invited to ask questions about the benefits and technicalities of
publishing to VideoLeeds.

Tutor: Beth Snowden

Beth is an Academic Staff Development Officer (Technology). Her
responsibilities within SDDU are to motivate, train and support
colleagues with technology enhanced learning in alignment with the
University of Leeds’ Digital Strategy for Taught Student Education 2013.
She is presently responsible for delivering training and support on the
use of Lecture Capture and Media Management.
