Description
Pre requisites: Participants will benefit from undertaking Strategic
Thinking and Planning part 1 or have a Unit Strategy in place to bring
to the workshop to discuss

Pre work: some pre reading

Overall aim of workshop: The aim of this workshop is to provide
participants with an opportunity to further explore the strategic
thinking and planning process. Building on part 1 this workshop examines
in more detail how to implement a strategic plan and how to engage
individuals to effectively contribute to that plan

Intended outcomes: By the end of this workshop, participants will have:
Reviewed the strategic planning process of analysis, choice and
implementation; Identified some of the main cultural/ practical
challenges in implementing your strategy; Determined how to monitor and
maintain progress against your key strategies goals

Indicative content: How do you go about making plans a reality?
Translating words on paper to collective actions that intimately
contribute to and deliver your longer term plans. This workshop
examines:
Making strategic choices and implementation plans
Putting the strategic plan into operation.
Evaluating progress against your key strategic goals
The role of culture in supporting /hindering progress
Planning tools and techniques
University policies and procedures
