Pre-requisites: None
Pre-work requirements: Participants will be asked to read a relevant
article on one particular leader’s leadership style and consider/bring
their opinions on the article.
Overall aim of course
This workshop will explore the manager’s role in leading, managing and
supporting people to help them achieve their potential.

By the end of this workshop, participants will:
Understand their role in leading and inspiring staff
Understand their role in managing and supporting staff to enable high
quality work
Have explored a range of techniques to develop staff capability

Continuing professional development; Kolb’s Learning Cycle
Learning and teaching methods: An interactive workshop
Tutor: Sarah Farrell is a Senior Leadership and People Development
Adviser within SDDU, responsible for leadership and management,
mentoring, women’s development, delivering central programmes and
working with faculties and services on bespoke development. Sarah has a
Postgraduate Certificate in Education, is a qualified coach with the
Institute of Leadership and Management, a certified Springboard
facilitator and is an accredited practitioner in the Myers Briggs,
Quintax, EQi, EQ360 and SDI tools.
