Description
Please note these workshops were formally known as the Supervisory
Management workshops

Pre-requisites: None

Pre-work requirements: It will be helpful if participants have
considered the various changes which are taking place within their own
area of the University and bring with them any key issues relating to
the implementation of these changes.

Overall aim of course
Change is all around us. The University must be able to respond
effectively to external changes and bring about internal changes which
ensure our strategy is achieved. This workshop will enable participants
to understand and apply relevant methods of managing change effectively
within the University.

Intended outcomes and benefits from attending:
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
Have gained an awareness of different types of change
Be able to apply different techniques to plan for and implement changes
effectively
Understand the effect of change upon groups and individuals
Have developed a working knowledge of the techniques required to manage
change effectively within their area of the University

Indicative content: what the session will cover:
Examples of change within the University; The nature of change
(developmental, transitional, transformational); The transition curve;
Creating a positive culture for change; Selling the benefits of change

Learning and teaching methods: An interactive workshop

Tutor: Marcus Hill is a Senior Staff Development Adviser in SDDU. He
has previously held a number of senior training and development roles
within industry. He has also led a team at a College of FE and designing
and delivering organisational development projects as well as personal
and professional development workshops. He has also completed a post
graduate diploma in Training Management and is an authorised facilitator
of the Margerison-McCann Team Management Profile and Quintax Personality
Profile.
